“This Land” is a visual journey from Kenya’s busy capital city of Nairobi to a rural village on the shores of Lake Victoria. It features art elements like graffiti, ‘Matatu’, music, dance, fashion and food as a way of showing Kenya’s vibrant emerging art scene. The message is delivered through a poem, and interviews with a select group of artists alongside their work. The first person we hear his story is Jose, a Matatu (public vehicle) tout. "If you give this city a chance, it will give you a chance,' says Jose about his city and his job. Next we meet Maksee and Brain. The two men design public vehicles (Matatu) giving them varied stunning looks. They share what it takes to do their job. The rest of the film features images of real people of Kenya in their community along the lake in the western part of Kenya.
